Eggs: The Ultimate Breakfast

So often, we carb it up first thing in the morning and then before we know it we are feeling sluggish and in need of another cup of coffee. We grab whatever bar we can while running out the door and then expect it to serve us well while we go about our morning. But truthfully, a breakfast high in refined carbohydrates really doesn't do us much good. In fact it can deplete our energy and lead to weight gain. But, eggs they are a whole other story and they really are so underrated!

They offer loads of complete protein (7 grams each to be exact) and B vitamins to get you going for the day. They are rich in the antioxidant lutein to keep your eye sight sharp and they have been proven to increase your metabolism, help you build lean muscle and help your brain stay chipper. They are a one ingredient, whole food that your body can easily utilize. But the best part? They are affordable and just about as fast to make as any fast or convenient food is to buy!

You can easily scramble up a couple of eggs in two minutes or less, pair it up with some fresh fruit and have an energizing, fat burning breakfast ready to go! Whether you like them hardboiled, scrambled, fried or over easy you can't go wrong. Just get them in and for goodness sakes please don't talk out the yolk. The yolk is where the majority of the nutrients are found after all so definitely don't give into old myths and think that they are anything but beneficial!

Listen friends, breakfast really is the most important meal of the day so let's stop making it such an afterthought shall we? Let's stop saying that we "don't have time". Hear me out! A healthy breakfast doesn't have to be fancy or time consuming you guys. It doesn't have to come with a label. It can be as simple as well, eggs. They may be small but they are mighty and they really pack a mean punch so don't sell yourself short by missing out on them!
