Honey BBQ Chicken Tenderloins



Summer may be nearing the end but it is never too late for those summer time barbecues on the grill! Who doesn't love a sweet and tangy sauce drizzled over some freshly grilled chicken? Yum! The downside with barbecue sauce though is the added high fructose corn syrup, preservatives and loads of refined sugar that are typically added to it. Have no fear though! This recipe is clean and just (if not more) as delicious to traditional barbecue sauce! Give it a try before summer slips away!


Ingredients:

  • 2 pound of boneless, skinless chicken tenderloins


~BBQ Sauce~

  • 4 tbsp of ketchup (high fructose corn syrup free)

  • 1 tbsp of honey

  • 1 tbsp of apple cider vinegar

  • ½ tsp of garlic powder

  • ½ tsp of paprika

  • ½ tsp of pink Himalayan salt

  • 1 tsp of Worcestershire sauce


Directions:

In a small bowl, mix the ketchup, honey, garlic powder, paprika and salt together. Then add in the apple cider vinegar and Worcestershire sauce and mix again. Once the sauce is completely mixed together, rub an even, thin layer of the sauce over raw, skinless chicken tenderloins and bake in the oven at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or stick them on the grill if preferred. Pair the cooked chicken with steamed broccoli (one cup per person) and then enjoy!


*I highly suggest you quadruple this sauce recipe and save some in the fridge for later.
