Pumpkin, the ultimate fall fruit! Yes, I said fruit because though it is often categorized as a vegetable or put in the squash family it is actually, technically a fruit and a ridiculously good for you fruit at that! Now though pumpkin is mainly consumed and purchased in bulk during the months of September through November, you may want to eat it year round after you read how incredibly beneficial it is for your health!
So with that being said, some of the most noted health benefits of pumpkin are:
It is loaded with an antioxidant called lutein that has been proven to help prevent cataracts and macular degeneration and keep your eyesight sharp.
