Christmas Potpourri

Is there anything better than walking into a house that smells like the perfect essence of Christmas? To me, festive scents set the mood and increase the holiday cheer. So, around the holidays I sometimes like to skip lighting a candle and instead make this potpourri on my stove top at home. The colors are vibrant and beautiful and the scents and aromas are festive and cozy! It takes only minutes to prepare so if you are in charge of hosting Christmas this year, try this recipe out and let it simmer for thirty minutes before guests arrive! Your house will smell heavenly!

Ingredients:

  • 6 cups of water

  • 1/2 sliced naval orange

  • 4 cinnamon sticks

  • 1 tbsp of vanilla extract or one vanilla bean

  • 1 cup of cranberries (halved for a stronger scent)

  • 2 sprigs of rosemary

Directions:

Add all of the ingredients to a large pot on your stove top and allow it to come to a boil. Then, lower the heat to a medium setting and allow it to simmer until the liquid is gone. ENJOY!
