Aluminum... it's in everything from deodorant, to baking powder, to pots and pans and more. But did you know it is extremely hazardous to your health? Did you know that by avoiding it you can protect yourself and your family from a host of diseases that just seem to randomly occur? The truth is, in my book nothing is random. Your body doesn't just act out unless there is an underlying cause. Often times, the underlying cause can be something as seemingly innocent as aluminum and other heavy metals that are weighing down your body. We will have to touch on other metals later but for today, let's just focus on the largest elephant in the room: aluminum. As previously mentioned the main sources of aluminum that we come can very easily come into contact with are: -antiperspirant deodorant -aluminum pots and pans
-aluminum foil -traditional baking powder -dry shampoo For years aluminum was seen as harmless. However over the last couple decades multiple studies have been done linking it to: -Alzheimer's disease -neuropathy -autism -diabetes -cancer -liver disease ...and more! So what can we do to protect ourselves from aluminum's nasty effects? Well for starters we can...
-switch to an aluminum free deodorant
-avoid cooking in aluminum pans and foil
-switch to aluminum free baking powder (Bob's Red Mills is my favorite)
-switch to aluminum free dry shampoo (Hask and Monat are my favorite brands)
-soak in Epsom salt and/ or magnesium baths to encourage detoxification
-use an infrared sauna 2-3 times a week
Aluminum toxicity is without a doubt avoidable if we are careful and diligent to make simple swaps and if recognize heavy metals for what they really are: poison. It may take a little bit of effort on your part but in the end your overall health will thank you! Let's start the aluminum free train together shall we? It's about time that we stop allowing these every day products to harm our health and the health of those we love!
